Post frame buildings have come a long way since putting wooden poles in the ground. We layout the building site with concrete piers which are typically 18” diameter cylinders of concrete going 4-5ft into the ground. On top of these piers are where the main support columns of your building go. These columns are attached with thick metal brackets that are set in the concrete. The columns most often span 8 ft and this same span transfers to the trusses. You will typically see these buildings wrapped with metal siding but are able to accept any type of siding that conventional buildings have.
So what are the advantages to this type of building? With this type of foundation you are able to have a very large interior footprint without the need for supporting walls. This translates to either a huge space for your cars, equipment, animals etc. It also allows you to organize your interior walls in any way you please without the restrictions of load-bearing walls.
Post frame construction also allows for highly efficient buildings when insulated. With the large space between the support columns it allows for a majority of your exterior walls to consist of insulation rather than wood reducing the effect of thermal bridging.
We do also offer ability to construct your building the traditional method of post frame construction with the columns (posts) going directly into the ground as well. This is often for those who have already purchased their materials and need a builder or for the person who prefers this method of construction.

Stick Frame Garages
If you're considering adding a traditionally framed garage to your property, we'd be honored to be your trusted builder. Our conventionally framed garages are constructed using either 2x4 or 2x6 lumber for the wall studs, providing a strong and reliable framework. These walls are built on a concrete foundation—typically a poured slab—which ensures long-lasting stability and durability. This style of construction is likely what you're most familiar with, as it's the standard method used in most residential homes and garages. Whether you're looking for extra storage, a workshop space, or a secure spot for your vehicles, we can help you bring your vision to life with a high-quality, professionally built structure.
